Donald E. Myers

Donald Eugene Myers, age 94 of Greencastle, PA died at 7:55AM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Menno Haven of Chambersburg where he resided for the past month.

Born March 19, 1923 in Greencastle, PA he was the son of the late Seibert and Lucy (Deck) Myers. He married his wife Naomi Viola (Hurd) Myers on September 14, 1946. She died on August 13, 2016.

He retired after 33 years employment at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg. Donald was a US Army veteran of World War II from 1943- 1946 and served in the South Pacific Theatre.

He was a life member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association and the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 of Greencastle.

Surviving family are two sons, Donald L. Myers and wife Diane of Shady Grove, David E. Myers and wife Sue of Greencastle, five grandchildren, Anthony Myers, Donna Myers, Vernon Myers, Deborah Myers, Daniel Myers, five great-grandchildren, one sister Jane Beaver of Greencastle and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters Isabel Cunningham, Anna Snoke, Doris Barnhart and three brothers George Myers, Robert Myers and Ray Myers.

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 12 at 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St.  Greencastle with his son the Rev. Donald L. Myers officiating. Burial with military honors by the Chambersburg VFW Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Quincy, PA.
