Donald C. Myers

Donald C. Myers, age 98, formerly of Greencastle, PA passed away at 6:13 AM Monday, September 16, 2019 in the Shook Home in Chambersburg, PA.

Born April 11, 1921 in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late Calvin C. and Carrie Mae (Swailes) Myers. He married his wife Pearl Virginia (Sites) Myers on April 23, 1943. She died on October 20, 2017.

In his earlier years, Donald worked at the former W.B. Thompson and Son and Waynesboro Electric and he retired from the US Army Electronic Command at Letterkenny Army Depot. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II.

Donald had been a member of the former Calvary Bible Church of Greencastle and currently was a member of the Ebenezer “Guitners” United Brethren Church near Greencastle. He was a member of the former American Legion Post #0276 in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Surviving family are two daughters, Donna M. (Stanley) Sites of Chambersburg, PA, Barbara K. (J. Randall) Withenshaw of Port Huron, MI, one son, Jeffrey L. (Carrie M.) Myers of Marion, PA, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 19 at 10:30 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastors David Grove and J. Randall Withenshaw officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg VFW Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Meyers Cemetery near Mercersburg. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Ebenezer United Brethren Church 3661 Williamson Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225.
