Diane M. (Wingert) Wesley

Diane M. Wesley, age 70, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 3, 1948, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late George S. Wingert, Jr. and Helen Keller Wingert.

A 1966 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim High School, Ms. Wesley went on to graduate in 1968 from the former Hagerstown Medical Secretary School. She worked for the Greencastle-Antrim School District as a secretary for 30 years, retiring as the Greencastle-Antrim High School secretary in 2008. Ms. Wesley was a 55 year member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the VFW Post 6319 auxiliary all in Greencastle. Her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren and travelling to their sporting events. She also enjoyed going to the Totem Pole Playhouse, where she was a season ticket holder for decades and playing cards with her friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Angie Schaeffer (husband Jason) of Greencastle, PA and Lori Wesley (partner Brandon DaSilva) of Greencastle, PA; five grandchildren, Devin Schaeffer (fiancé Cassey Cordell), Ashlynn Schaeffer (fiancé Calvin O’Farrell), Baylee Schaeffer, and Gia and Jett DaSilva; two great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Larry Wingert and Linda Seville (husband Tom). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Wesley in 1979 and a brother, Donnie Wingert.

Funeral services will be privately held at the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Murray B. Stevens will officiate. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, Hershey, PA office, Rt. 422 & Sipe Ave , Hershey, PA 17033.
