Once the family business was sold, he was employed by Dixie Millwork in Hagerstown, MD, Myers Building Systems, Clear Spring, MD, Mercersburg Builders Supply, Mercersburg, L & S Stone, Greencastle, and Martin’s Farm Market, Hagerstown, MD. After retiring, he was a faithful volunteer at Booksavers of Hagerstown, MD.

He attended Genesis Fellowship in Kauffman Station. Through the years he served on the following boards: Hope Christian Center, New York City, NY, Menno Haven Retirement Community, Chambersburg, Cove Valley Christian Youth Camp, Mercersburg, and Sparkling Springs Association, Harrisonburg, VA. He was also instrumental in starting the Maugansville (MD) Little League.

Arlin enjoyed traveling to Florida, spending time at their cabin and also attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and many activities. He was an avid reader and Baltimore Orioles fan.

Along with his wife of 55 years, he is survived by four children; Cindy S. (Carl) Keener of State Line, Keith L. (Julie) Martin of Greencastle, Lori A. (Greg) Martin of Marion, and Amy J. (Mike) Hammond; six grandchildren; Chanelle (Ryan) Hamilton, Derek (Chantel) Keener, Kolby Martin, Hailee Martin, Michaelena Hammond, and Logan Martin; and two great-grandchildren with one on the way; one sister Betty Horst, and one brother Leo (Mary) Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Alta Hertzler; and two brothers-in-law Lauren Horst, and James Hertzler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, 24 Kauffman Road East Chambersburg, PA, with the Rev. Steve Fretz officiating.
