Stanley L. Dodson, age 71 of Greencastle, PA died at 2:30 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the Waynesboro Hospital. He had been in declining health for the past three years.

Born September 3, 1945 in Alexandria, VA, he was the son of the late Betty Young. He married his wife Susie D. (Pentz) Dodson in 1970.

Stanley retired after 45 years employment as a welder at Grove Worldwide (now Manitowoc Crane) in Shady Grove where he worked in the RT Assembly. In his younger years, he served in the Job Corps in Oregon.

He was raised at the former Milton Wright Home near Kauffman Station and attended Greencastle-Antrim High School.

He was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association and was an avid fisherman. Stanley loved Ford cars and he enjoyed driving his black Ford Mustang. Stanley was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Teams fan by following the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. In his earlier years, he coached baseball in the former Cal-Quin Little League and Greencastle Little League.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are, two sons, Curtis R. Dodson of Greencastle, Brian W. Dodson, serving in the US Air Force in Texas and his wife Christin, one granddaughter, Olivia R. Dodson  and her mother Melody Dodson of Greencastle, twin brother, Steven Dodson and wife Joy of Rouzerville, PA and nieces and nephews.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday May 17 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Penn State Children’s Hospital Four Diamonds Fund 1249 Cocoa Ave, Suite 115 P.O.
