Paul R. Statler Sr.

Paul R. Statler Sr. “Pappy Dick” of Williamson, PA  passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital on Sunday morning March 4, 2018 at the  age of 86.  He was born in Pleasant Hall, PA on February 14, 1932 and was the son of the late Paul W. and Margaret (Cordell) Statler.  He married his wife Elizabeth (Little ) Statler January 24, 1953. 

He worked with and for, 4 generations at Sniders Elevator, first in Williamson, later in Lemasters. Paul was a decorated US Army Veteran of the Korean War .

He is survived by five children, Richard Jr (wife Kathy) of Greencastle, Rodney (wife Sue) Greencastle, Randy (wife Alice) of Williamson, Donna (husband Leon Witter) of Greencastle, Sandy (husband Ivan Hissong) of Greencastle, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Pauls’ remaining siblings are Barbra Keckler, Norma Nigh, and Judie Karn.   

He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, a grandson,  his wife Elizabeth,  brother Jacob, sisters Faye Martin, Hope Kline, and most recently his sister

and friend Janice Carbaugh.

The visitation and funeral service will be held at the Greencastle Church of God 4480 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle.  The visitation will be on Thursday March 8 from 5:00-8:00 PM, and  funeral service will be Friday March 9 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Reuben Egolf  officiating and assisted by Pastor Matt Gordon and Rev. Murray Stevens. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Mt. Calvary Tabernacle 5415 Warm Spring Rd. St. Thomas, PA 17252.
