Owen R. Henry, age 81, of Moss Spring Ave. Greencastle died unexpectedly Thursday, April 13, 2017 in his home.

Born March 7, 1936 in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late Edgar F. and Mary Elizabeth (Roth) Henry. He and his wife Betty Webb Henry were married December 1, 1962. She died on April 5, 2014.

Owen retired from the Federal Government. He served in the US Army from 1954-56. He was a  

1954 graduate of Greencastle High School and he also attended Shepherd University. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle and the Mt. Pisgah Masonic Lodge #443 F&AM of Greencastle. Owen was an active member of various masonic bodies while living in New Jersey and was also a life member of the Greencastle American Legion Post #373.

Surviving family are two sons, Darren R. Henry and Brian S. Henry, both of Denver, Colorado, twin grandchildren, Conner and Isabella Henry, two brothers, Daryl Henry and wife Nancy of Greencastle, Harold Henry and wife Miriam of Hagerstown and sister-in-law Annabelle E. Henry of Greencastle.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John “Dick” Henry, two sisters, Lucile Taber and Helen Overcash.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 10:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Martin Horn officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home where Mt. Pisgah Masonic Lodge will hold a masonic service at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church 1186 Jason Dr. Greencastle, PA 17225.
