Ollie “Smitty” E. Smith, age 94, of Perth Amboy, NJ died Wednesday evening, February 15, 2017, in her home.

 Born December 2, 1922 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Sarah Ruth (Cump) Smith.

 Ollie retired in 1984 after 40 years of teaching physical education with the Edison Township New Jersey School District. She was a 1940 graduate of Greencastle High School, received her B.S degree in physical education from East Stroudsburg University and her Master’s degree from Rutgers University in 1962.

 She was a member of the New Jersey Education Association, Middlesex County Retired Teachers Association, and a member of the Perth Amboy Women’s Club. She also was very active in the Raritan Bay Medical Center Auxiliary of Perth Amboy, volunteering many hours of service to the staff and patients.

 She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greencastle, and she also attended the First Presbyterian Church while living in Perth Amboy.

 She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by a sister, Jua Nita F. Smith, on February 26, 1996.

 A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 21 at 1:00 PM at the Browns Mill Cemetery, Kauffman Station, PA with Rev. Martin H. Horn officiating. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., Greencastle, PA 17225, or to Raritan Bay Medical Center, 530 New Brunswick Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ  08861.  Arrangements were by the Harold M.
