Michael Lynn Statler

Michael Lynn Statler, age 59, of Greencastle, PA died unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, November 23, 2017 after dealing with declining health. Born April 14, 1958 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Harry T. and Mary Lou Sipes Statler. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a heavy vehicle operator, received his good conduct medal, meritorious mast award, sea service deployment ribbon, and rifle expert badge while in the service. He was a graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School, class of 1976. In his early years, he worked as a printer in Waynesboro. He later worked with the family auction in State Line.

He is survived by his two daughters; Elayna Statler, of Chambersburg, and Rachel Statler, of Columbia, MD. two sisters; Brenda Statler Woodring and her husband James, Ann Statler Amsley and husband Craig, one brother; Thomas Statler and wife Barbara, five nieces and nephews; Candis DeShong, Saundra Tucker, Cristina Shifflett, Cayla Amsley, Creighton Amsley, and eight grandnieces and nephews; Alexa and Drew DeShong, Haley and Jeb Barnhart, Dawson, Deagan, and Carlee Shifflett, and Charleigh Amsley.

He loved attending any and all sporting events for his daughters, nieces, and nephews. He was an avid antique collector and loved showing off his rare finds. He enjoyed fishing with his family and close friends. He valued his family more than anything, and would give all that he had for those he cared about. He touched many with his generous, caring heart and will be remembered for all the good he brought to their lives.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 28 at 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle. Burial will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA . The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com
