Gladys Clara (Byers) Robinson, age 89, a resident of the Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, PA since August 2013 and formerly of State Line, PA died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the nursing home.  

Born August 7, 1927 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin and Clara (Stine) Byers. She married Richard Lee “Dick” Robinson on December 24, 1951. He died on April 11, 2010.

Gladys retired in 1992 with 47 years of service with the former Fairchild Industries and Rohr Corporation of Hagerstown. She was a member since 1990 of the Trinity United Church of Christ in State Line and a member for 50 years of the former Trinity United Brethren Church also of State Line. She was a 1945 graduate of Greencastle High School.

Gladys was a member of the Loyal Daughters, the Castle Red Hatters. The Atomic Veterans Association, all of Greencastle and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the State Line Ruritan Club. She enjoyed traveling and visited 41 states, the Yukon and other Canadian Provinces.

Surviving family are two brothers Richard F. Byers and wife Joann of Hagerstown, Larry Byers, of the VA Center, Martinsburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 25 at  11:00 AM  at the Trinity United Church of Christ 29 East Ave. State Line, PA  with her former pastor Rev. Dr. Edwin Higginbottom and Rev. Irene Pouliot officiating. There will be no viewing but the family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 – 11:00 AM on Saturday.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Beautiful View Cemetery, Middleburg, MD. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Trinity United Church of Christ P.O. Box 266 State Line, PA 17263. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M.
