Georgia E. (Miller) Rowe, age 79, a resident of the Quincy Village Nursing Home and formerly of Greencastle died at 4:15 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in the nursing home.

Born January 10, 1937 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Hattie (Bryson) Miller. She married Ralph F. Rowe in December 1954. He died on November 22, 1982.

Georgia was employed for 33 years at the former Corning Glass Works in Greencastle and she also worked as a door greeter at the Wal-Mart in Chambersburg.

She last attended the Macedonia United Brethren Church near Greencastle. Georgia attended the Greencastle High School. She enjoyed traveling, loved and respected the military veterans, was a giving person and enjoyed visiting the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, PA.

Surviving family are one granddaughter Nicole Rowe-Patterson of Mechanicsburg, PA, great-granddaughter, Savannah Patterson, daughter-in-law, Tracy J. Rowe of Chambersburg, three step-grandsons, nieces, a nephew, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Stephen L. Rowe on September 17, 2008, three brothers, Reginald, Kenneth and Richard Miller and a sister Vada Mourer.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday January 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg with the Rev. Gayle Ruble Sr. officiating. There will be no viewing. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made in her memory to the American Heart Association 610 Community Way Lancaster, PA 17603.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com.
