Dennis R. Timmons

Dennis Ray Timmons, age 63 of  Greencastle, PA died at 5:15 PM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg following a brief illness.

Born December 5, 1952 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of Edward Eugene and Miriam Catherine (Martin) Timmons of Greencastle. Denny married his wife Charlene H. (Sellers) Timmons on October 14, 1978.

He began his woodworking career by working for Sam Horst, Adin Kuhns and at the former Ken-Tim Woodworks.  He owned and operated his business Penn- Mar Woodworks of Greencastle for a number of years. He was a member of the Otterbein United Brethren Church of Greencastle.

Denny was a life member of the Rescue Hose Co. # 1 of Greencastle where in his younger years he was a volunteer and driver for the ambulance and fire trucks. He enjoyed singing in the Rescue Hose Co. annual Minstrel Show and their performance at the Quincy Retirement Home. He also sang with the Kings Troubadours gospel singing group.

He graduated from the Greencastle-Antrim High School, Class of 1971. His interests and hobbies included model airplanes and model railroading.

Surviving family in addition to his wife of nearly 38 years and his parents are two sons Trevor Timmons and wife Deborah of Chambersburg, Aaron Timmons of Greencastle, one brother, Donnie Timmons and wife Debbie of Greencastle and niece Christina McCammon, who formerly resided with him and his wife.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 2:00 PM at the Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle with Rev. David Rawley officiating. There will be no public viewing. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle.  The family requests that flowers be omitted and that contributions be given to the Dennis Timmons Care Fund at Orrstown Bank 308 Carolle St, Greencastle, PA 17225.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com.
