Amy Louise (Henneberger) Huber

Amy Louise (Henneberger) Huber, age 89 passed away peacefully after a long illness on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at The Arbors in Shelburne, Vermont.

She was born on June 7, 1927 in Greencastle, PA and was the daughter of the late John W. and Amy (Shank) Henneberger.

Amy graduated from Greencastle High School in 1945 and received her BA degree in Psychology from Bucknell University in 1949.

She began her work with the Girl Scouts of America in Waynesboro and held several field directorships before being assigned to Heidelberg Germany as the executive director for military dependents. Her family joined her on visits and enjoyed traveling through Europe with her. She retired as executive director of the Vermont Girl Scout Council in 1976 and then embarked with friends on a year long adventure as they toured the United States in an Airstream.

Amy returned to Vermont and began a career in real estate. In 1985, she married Alfred L. Huber and they enjoyed 28 years of marriage until his passing in 2013.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister Dr. Lois M. Henneberger of Greencastle, PA, a brother John D. (wife Nancy) Henneberger of Fort Myers, FL, a nephew, John William, a niece Jean H. Busch and two step-daughters.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle, PA on Friday, November 4 at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Dr. Carol Kipe. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Vermont Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, P.O Box 10832, Bedford, NH 03110-0832.
